Sara Mancuso is an award-winning writer and marketing professional specializing in the educational sector. Prior to joining AAP, Sara served five years as the Director of Marketing and Communications at Akiba Yavneh Academy of Dallas, a private early childhood and K-12 educational institution. Reporting to the Head of School, Sara managed all communications activities in support of fundraising, parent relations, admissions, social media and board relations.

From 2009 to 2016, Sara was Director of Development Communications at the University of Texas at Dallas where she oversaw the creation of new print and digital tools to engage UTD alumni, donors and other constituents. Her tenure included UTD’s first comprehensive campaign, which raised more than $270 million between 2009-2014. Sara led the production of campaign collateral for each of the UTD schools and major units, in addition to a biannual campaign newsletter, gift announcements for the campaign website and social media channels, and an annual report to donors. Many of these projects received awards from CASE and the University of Texas System.
Earlier in her career, Sara was a freelance writer for the Philadelphia Inquirer and the Dallas Morning News. Her stories covered a wide range of subjects including education, business, healthcare, politics, fashion and hospitality.
Sara earned a B.A. in social work from the University of Texas at Austin and an M.A. in communications from the University of Texas at Dallas. She also completed the Certificate in Fund Raising Management program, conferred by The Fund Raising School at the Indiana University Lilly Family School of Philanthropy.
